ATLANTA – Leading off the 10th inning on Wednesday night, pinch-hitter Tim Locastro wanted to find his way on base. He also wanted to put pressure on the opposition. He figured a bunt attempt might be a good idea. It wasn’t until later that he realized just how good an idea it was.
Locastro happened to bunt on Atlanta Braves reliever Jesse Biddle, a pitcher with known issues when it comes to throwing to bases, and when Biddle fielded the ball, those issues reared their ugly head.
Biddle’s throw sailed down the first-base line and Locastro ended up at second, setting the table for the Diamondbacks to score the go-ahead run and come away with a 3-2 victory on Wednesday night at SunTrust Park.
