Yesterday was another tough start for Jordan Montgomery. While he almost got through six inning, and came within one out of securing a ninth win which would tie him for the team lead, he scattered ten hits over 5.2 innings, and was charged with six runs, all of them earned. He ended the day with a 6.44 ERA, which ranks Jordan dead-last among the 135 pitchers in the majors to have thrown 75+ inning this year. He’s now entering historic territory, franchise-wise, due to ineffectiveness and the fact he keeps going out there. By bWAR, there have only been two worse seasons for Arizona starters than Montgomery’s -1.
