Last week we took a look at the possibilkity of signing Jake Lamb to an early extension. There were definite pros and cons to the possibility. Jake Lamb himself made the question a complicated one with hiis late season swoon. However, his unsustainably low BABIP during that time, coupled with an improvement in his defense combined to give hope that Lamb could still be a major part of this team’s future. If that’s the case, the longer the team waits, the harder it will be to lock him in at a team-friendly rate to help offset the salary concerns that loom two years in the future.
