Tebow at forefront of fall league's 25th season

The Arizona Fall League is accustomed to its status as one of baseball’s best-kept secrets, but it seems to find its way into the mainstream once every couple of decades.

When it opens its 25th season on Tuesday afternoon, the fall league will be home to one of baseball’s newest and most-talked-about players in outfielder Tim Tebow, a 29-year-old former Heisman Trophy winner who signed a minor-league deal with the New York Mets last month.

Tebow, a lightning rod during his college football and NFL career, figures to continue to attract attention during his time in Arizona, not unlike the way NBA superstar Michael Jordan did during his brief foray into baseball, which took him to the fall league in 1994.
