Diamondbacks right-hander Taylor Clarke’s outing on Wednesday night was not great. He gave up four runs. He served up a pair of homers. He had a lead but could not hold it.
But the outing, which came as part of a 6-4 loss in 10 innings to the Los Angeles Dodgers, wasn’t all that bad, either. It could have been worse. And, thinking back on some of his starts from last season, he seemed to view this one as a sign of progress.
“There were times last year when it seemed to spiral out on me,” Clarke said.
