Right fielder Steven Souza Jr. pointed to one of the few positives to come from the pectoral injury that wrecked his debut season with the Diamondbacks.
“I can take my shirt off and show you a cool party trick,” Souza said. “My pec rolls up to the middle now because half of it is gone.”
Souza can joke now that the injury finally is in the past. Diving for a ball in the gap during a spring training game last year, Souza suffered an injury that initially was thought to be relatively minor, with the club suggesting he might only be out for a matter of weeks.
