PHOENIX -- It took a lot longer to get than anyone could have expected, but Steven Soutza Jr. hit his first home run in a D-backs uniform Saturday night against the Padres at Chase Field.
Souza, whom the D-backs acquired just after camp opened this spring to help ease the loss of J.D. Martinez, injured his right pectoral muscle while diving for a ball on March 21.
The injury kept him on the disabled list until May 3, and after being activated, he reaggravated the injury and had to go back on the DL a few weeks later.
