The Diamondbacks added another power arm to their bullpen, agreeing to terms with reliever Hector Rondon on a one-year deal with a club option for 2021, sources said Wednesday.
Rondon, who turns 32 next month, is guaranteed $3 million, one source said. He will earn $2.5 million in 2020 with a $500,000 buyout on the team option. The agreement is pending a physical exam.
Rondon features a fastball that sits in the mid-to-upper-90s along with a power slider. He posted a 3.71 ERA in 62 games last season with the Houston Astros, but came up with the Chicago Cubs, helping them win a World Series in 2016.
