The D-backs have reached an agreement with free-agent starting pitcher Zack Greinke, pending a physical, according to a baseball source. The club has not yet confirmed the news.
Terms of the deal for Greinke, one of the most sought after free agents on the market, were not disclosed. The 32-year-old right-hander finished second in National League Cy Young Award voting in 2015 with an ERA of 1.66 -- the lowest in 20 years. In 12 big league seasons, Greinke is 142-93 with a 3.35 ERA.
