DENVER – Outfielder Socrates Brito landed on the disabled list on Friday with a broken big toe on his right foot, and the Diamondbacks were left to stare at the same problems with their roster they faced earlier this week.
On Sunday, the Diamondbacks sent Brandon Drury to Triple-A Reno for two reasons: First, they were unable to find consistent at-bats for their prized rookie, whose development they did not want to impede. Second, they had no other center fielder on the roster after David Peralta joined Chris Owings on the disabled list, and the move cleared room for Brito.
