It was at that tinder age I learned the lesson of never deciding a game was over before the final out, a lesson which served me well some 20-something years later in 2001, when the then Cleveland Indians won 15-14 in 11 innings against the 116-win juggernaut Mariners after trailing 14-2 after six.
