After a terrible road-trip through Chicago and San Francisco, the Diamondbacks returned to Chase Field, hoping some home cooking might help them settle in and put together a stronger performance. At the very least, playing in Chase Field afforded the team to once again play the game in more ideal conditions. Missing from the game was the terrible weather the Diamondbacks were forced to endure over the previous seven games.
The Diamondbacks went down in order in the first. Then, with two outs in the second inning, Carson Kelly doubled. That was followed by a pair of walks to load the bases.
