Ryne Nelson tossed seven and a third innings of two-run ball. Justin Martinez tossed a scoreless ninth. That set the stage for Adrian Del Castillo. The slugging backstop came to the plate in the ninth having already recorded two hits on the evening. He wanted more though, and he got it, crushing a home run deep into the right field bleachers, making his first career home run a walk-off variety.
