This game was long and quite brutal. In the end, the D-backs ran out of pitchers, but got a valiant effort out of catcher Jeff Mathis. Despite offering some decent pitching, he did give up a solo home run in the 16th which proved to be decisive. It is hard not to forgive this loss as the pitching was mostly great and the offense just couldn’t capitalize. The Rockies are next and the D-backs are still in first place.
Goldy needed a red hot June to get his 6th straight selection. Corbin got his first since Tommy John surgery.
