Snake Bytes 7/8: Offensive Onslaught

[D’backs.com] D-backs mash early, often in record 20-run rout - Pulse check! Prior to last night’s contest, the Arizona Diamondbacks had scored 23 runs while allowing 32 in six July games. Nothing a good 20-5 slaughter in favor of the good guys can’t correct. It was so far out of hand by the 5th inning that Alex Avila was moved from catcher to replace Paul Goldschmidt at first base who had just hit a three run bomb the inning prior. David Peralta went five-for-six raising his batting average ten points. The feel good story of the night has to go to Alex Avila who reached base in all five of his plate appearances in his first game back off of the disabled list.
