Paul Goldschmidt’s three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning was all the support Zack Greinke needed on Tuesday night. Greinke pitched 6 2⁄3 strong innings and surrendered only two earned runs. The Diamondbacks then turned the ball over to the bullpen, where the A-Team went to work on the Cardinals’ hitters.
The team’s star batter and star pitcher teamed up to quash Arizona’s four-game slide.
Not only did the team snap a four-game losing streak, but they also brought an end to a six-game home losing streak.
