Taylor Clarke turned his start into a bullpen game, going only 3 2⁄3 innings, giving up five hits and three runs with three walks and a single strikeout. He was relieved by recently promoted Alex Young who gave the team another 2 1⁄3 innings of scoreless ball. The offense did just enough to give the pair a one-run lead, which the Diamondbacks took into the bottom of the ninth. One strike away from a victory, Greg Holland melted down entirely. Four walks by Holland, followed by a final bases loaded walk from McFarland gave the Dodgers a come from behind walk, walk, walk, walk, walk-off.
