The Diamondbacks will pick 39th tonight after dropping the Wednesday matinee to the Rays.
Tampa Bay’s Corey Dickerson slugged two home runs on the afternoon and the Diamondbacks squandered multiple chances to push across extra runs as the Rays took the Wednesday matinee at Chase Field. Archie Bradley once again struggled with his command and with putting batters the opposition away after getting two out, going 5 2/3 innings but allowing four earned runs while walking four as well.
After controlling the draft board in 2015, the Diamondbacks are now at the mercy of almost every other team in baseball, not making their first selection until the 39th pick in the draft.
