The Diamondbacks received a stellar performance from starter Zack Greinke, and the heart of the Diamondbacks' lineup came to life as the Diamondbacks downed the Rays 5-0 Tuesday night in Phoenix.
Zack Greinke was in top form on Tuesday night. The right-hander only needed 104 pitches to throw a complete game shutout, allowing only three hits while walking two and striking out two. Paul Goldschmidt and Jake Lamb took care of powering the offense, Goldschmidt going 3-for-4, and Lamb cranking a 3-run home run off of left-handed starter Matt Moore immediately after Chip Hale was ejected for arguing a strikeout call against Brandon Drury in the fourth inning.
