Snake Bytes 6/23: A Win is a Win

Both starters brought their A-game to Friday night’s affair. Patrick Corbin pitched seven innings, striking out twelve, including a stretch where he retired 13 in a row, eight of those by the strikeout. Ivan Nova pitched eight innings of shutout baseball, striking out eight and walking none. The bullpens held up too, for the most part. Brad Boxberger had a rough 11th inning, but some of the rockiness was purely bad luck. HE did manage to strand the bases loaded to get the team into yet later innings.

The Diamondbacks’ offense had another rough night, scratching out only two runs on eight hits and two walks, both of which came in the game’s final frame.
