The Pirates committed three errors in the first inning, allowing Arizona to storm out to a 6-0 lead. Clay Buchholz cruised through the first three innings, but then ran into trouble in the fourth. An error by Arizon didn’t help matter, and suddenly the game was 8-6 in favor of the snakes with five innings left to go.
Ketel Marte continued to turn things around. Jon Jay knocked his first three hits and his first home run as a member of the Diamondbacks.
