Chris Iannetta was the story for the Diamondbacks in this one. After recovering a wild pitch in time to gun down Eric Thames trying to score in the sixth, he went to work with the bat in the ninth. With two outs in the top of the ninth and the Diamondbacks down one, the Arizona catcher deposited one in the seats to send the game into extras.
Having done all that could be asked of him against the White Sox last Wednesday, Randall Delgado will again make the start for the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday against the Pirates to cover the second of Taijuan Walker’s missed outings due to blisters.
