Zack Greinke had a rocky first inning. Then, John Ryan Murphy and Wilmer Flores had a rough second inning, leading to Greinke allowing two more runs to score, one of them earned. Apparently, that flipped a switch inside the Arizona ace, as he sent down the next 14 Rangers he faced before Shin-Shoo Choo doubled with one out in the seventh inning. Greinke finished the night with 6 2⁄3 innings pitched and nine strikeouts against one walk. This served to keep the Diamondbacks in the game.
