Arizona won big, despite the return of Madison Bumgarner’s velocity drop and Ketel Marte turning an ankle.
Ketel Marte showed more pop with his bat on Tuesday when he hit a first-inning solo shot. Later, in the third inning, he rolled his ankle rounding third base. As a precaution, Marte was lifted from the game. The stand-in center fielder is now listed as day-to-day as the team plays things careful.
By essentially any measure, 2020 was Madison Bumgarner’s worst season in the Majors. The veteran lefty is remaining even-keel about the season though, focused instead on returning to winning form in 2021.
