It took 10 innings, but Arizona pulled out a come-from-behind victory in their chilly first game against MLB competition. Jeremy Hazelbaker and Michael Perez both hit home runs for the snakes while Brad Boxberger pitched a scoreless inning in his spring audition for the closer’s role. Yasmany Tomas had an adventurous day in the outfield but had a hit and a walk in his two plate appearances.
With the majority of the team’s veterans getting the day off, and no pitcher other than the game’s starter going more than three outs, Arizona’s young and hungry players came from behind and put together good at-bats late to secure a win over the rival Colorado Rockies.
