In something of an odd bit of timing, Rawlings and MLB chose to announce the 2020 Gold Glove winners during the coverage of the election for President. Unsurprisingly, the news was mostly drowned out by countless media outlets releasing polling news at the same time. The award for first base seems to be raising some eyebrows in both leagues. In the NL, Anthony Rizzo brought home more hardware, despite no longer being the defender he once was. Over in the AL, Seattle’s Evan White unseated Oakland’s Matt Olson for the award. Oh, and some guy named Betts won his fifth in a row.
