The injury bug has bit the Diamondbacks hard this season, but there has been a silver lining in the form of the performance of young players being called up to fill the void. The most recent rotation injury fill-in is Slade Cecconi. The 24 year-old right hander came in on short notice a little over a week ago and has now pitched the two best games of his young career in 2024, and it has been one of the best two game stretches by a Diamondback starter this season. Coming from the man who finished fourth in the Spring Training competition for the final starter spot, this was quite a surprise.
