The Diamondbacks’ bullpen blew a four-run lead through seven innings, as the battle against our NL West rivals ended in that most spring training of results, a tie. Merrill Kelly allowed three home-runs, but they were all solo shots, all in the fourth inning, and were the only damage he suffered. Kelly went five innings, and was charged with those three runs and they were the only hits off him as well. He walked two and struck out six. Shelby Miller followed, and got four outs - all by the K, strengthening his case for a bullpen position. John Curtiss gave up a run in the eighth, but Conor Grammes blew the save, with three runs scoring off him on three hits and a walk in the ninth.
