Taylor Clarke has a scruffy mat of hair at the bottom of his chin, clean cheeks and, on certain days, the thin wisps of a mustache. He has piercing blue eyes and thick brown eyebrows. He looks like any other fresh-faced, mid-20s man in the Diamondbacks’ clubhouse.
But Clarke, one of the club’s top pitching prospects, believes his appearance is as responsible as his right arm for him being on the cusp of the major leagues.
Clarke runs his fingers lightly across the right side of face. It feels normal to him, the nerves and receptors all working in concert.
