Over, in a sense that the Brewers can be pretty sure that they will play October baseball: of all the teams in first place in the National League, the Brewers currently have the safest lead over the number two, with the Chicago Cubs, who have already given up on the season, 8.5 games behind. The Brewers’ record of 83-62 (before Thursday’s rubber game against the Giants in San Francisco) is close to the Diamondbacks’ 82-64.
It is funny that this late in September there is a still a team in the National League we haven’t played against this season.
