Ever since the Diamondbacks first set foot on MLB earth, the Pirates have had a winning record just 4 times. The Diamondbacks started playing in 1998 but didn’t encounter a Pirates team that would end the season with a winning record until 2013. The Pirates would actually be a rather good team from 2013 to 2015 right when the Diamondbacks were on their way to a couple of dreadful seasons.
As such, just once has it happened that we could get excited about a game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Pittsburgh Pirates. The one and only time we are writing 2018, when both the Diamondbacks and the Pirates made an effort to get into the play-offs.
