Last time we met the Padres we had had a couple of disappointing results. After beating the Dodgers (sic), we lost a series at home against the Marlins, then were swept by the Rangers in a two game series in Arlington and ended the month of May with 2 losses against the Mets, at that moment one of the worst teams in the entire league.
But the team entered June and took 2 back from the Mets right before winning a series against the San Francisco Giants. It was June 6 and the Diamondbacks were going to play the Padres in Petco Park with a 29-33 record, not that much worse than the Padres’ 32-33, all of us pretty well in the picture for a Wild Card.
