The Diamondbacks continued to make the act of scoring runs at Chase Field look remarkably difficult, no easy task in a ballpark regarded as a hitter’s paradise.
If their 2-1 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Sunday afternoon felt familiar, it was for good reason.
“It was pretty much the same game all four times,” Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt said.
The Giants completed a four-game sweep by doing what they had done in each of the first three games. They did just about everything a little bit better than the Diamondbacks.
Throughout the series, the Giants’ starters were more effective, their bullpen more reliable, their hitters more capable.
