Diamondbacks lefty Robbie Ray gave up one run in 5 1/3 innings in a 3-1 win over the Dodgers on Thursday night. Arizona Republic
LOS ANGELES – To see him on Thursday night was to see the Robbie Ray of old: pumping fastballs up to 97 mph, inducing ugly swings on breaking balls, exuding a general swagger on the mound at Dodger Stadium. The Diamondbacks can only hope there’s more where that came from.
When the calendar flips to September, the Diamondbacks will be a first-place team, something they assured themselves with their 3-1 win over the Dodgers.
