Recap: After exploding for 26 runs in the first two games of a three-game set, the Diamondbacks couldn’t keep pace with the Phillies in the finale and dropped Wednesday’s matinee 7-6 in front of 18,047 at Chase Field.
The Phillies’ rally was boosted by a four-run sixth inning, handing Diamondbacks starter Chase Anderson (5-5) his first loss since returning from the disabled list earlier this month. Anderson was tagged for five runs, nine hits and left the game with two runners on and nobody out in the sixth.
Later in that inning, an RBI single from SS Freddy Galvis tied it at 4 before C Cameron Rupp belted a three-run shot to right field off of LHP Keith Hessler to give the Phillies all the cushion they’d need.
