PHOENIX -- The business of baseball continued for the D-backs on Tuesday as the team went through its usual end-of-the-season organizational review with the coaching staff, scouts and baseball operations officials.

Those meetings were expected to continue Wednesday.

On Monday, Arizona announced that the contract of general manager Dave Stewart would not be renewed for next year and that manager Chip Hale was being dismissed with one year left on his deal.

The fate of chief baseball officer Tony La Russa was less clear, as he and the team continue to discuss what his role might be going forward if he chooses to stay with the organization.
