D-backs prospect Cody Reed threw 6 2/3 perfect innings for Class A Hillsboro on Friday night, before giving up a two-out double in the seventh.
Nonetheless, Reed -- Arizona's No. 17 prospect -- finished the night having allowed just one hit and no runs over a career-high seven innings, while striking out seven in the Hops' 2-0 shutout win over Eugene.
"Coming into this game, my goal was to try to go more than six innings, go seven or eight innings and give my bullpen a little relief," Reed said to MiLB.com. "I was thinking about it the whole time.
