With just 12,994 seats filled out of the 48,000 available at Chase Field, the Diamondbacks felt the “awkwardness” on Tuesday night.
“I felt like we came out with a good intention, we had a good plan and then we started chasing a little bit,” Torey Lovullo said. “Whether the energy was there or not, I felt like the guys were engaged and they were out there with the best intention.”
The attendance on Tuesday was the lowest the Diamondbacks have seen since the last time they played the Rockies on May 31st when only 11,884 fans were in attendance at 24% capacity of Chase Field.
