I’m not particularly sure why MLB insisted on cramming this game into the schedule. It’s not as if either the Rockies or the Diamondbacks have any realistic playoff hopes. Colorado are still technically in contention - three back of San Francisco with four to play, but it’s a slim chance. I’d have been inclined to provisionally schedule the double-header for Sunday, and then not bother with it, in the almost certain event that it’s not needed. Although there is that whole “every game on the final day has to start at the same time, in order to create artificial drama” thing they started doing a few years back.
