Having finally arrived on the West coast, Eduardo Escobar is in the line-up at third-base for the Diamondbacks against the Padres. He’ll become the fifth player this season to start at the hot corner for Arizona, after Jake Lamb (52 games), Daniel Descalso (26), Deven Marrero (21) and Chris Owings (6). With Lamb out, I expect Escobar to receive the bulk of the starts, since the switch-hitter performs relatively equitably from both sides of the plate. However, we will probably see him start at shortstop some of the time, against right-handers, as Nick Ahmed had hit those 160 points worse than lefties this year.
