I’m feeling lazy, and there’s just the one series unfinished in the wild-card round, so am simply going to copy-paste samath’s comment from this morning’s Snake Bytes. In their three years of existence so far, all 12 Wildcard series have ended in a sweep... except the two involving the Mets, in 2022 and 2024. This means one of the following two rules will remain intact at the end of today:
- If the Mets win: Every team that wins Game 1 of a Wildcard Series goes on to win the series. They might as well just be 1 game!
