However, Peralta said he is available to play and D-backs manager Chip Hale said he had wanted to get Peralta a day off now that fourth outfielder Ender Inciarte has returned from the disabled list.
"I'm just going to take it a little bit easy today, I'll be ready for anything if they need me for the game," Peralta said. "I feel pretty good. That was a scary moment for me, for everybody, but I'm just glad nothing bad happened."
Peralta was adamant that he felt there was no intent on Fernandez's part. He said he received a text message from Marlins infielder Martin Prado, Peralta's former D-backs teammate, after the game on Wednesday night that Fernandez felt bad about the pitch and hadn't directed it at Peralta's head.
