Each question posed to Diamondbacks lefty Patrick Corbin presented a theory, of sorts, on why his year has begun in such spectacular fashion. There was his slider usage, his distance removed from elbow surgery, the impact of his relatively newfound curveball.
Corbin considered them all but could only laugh and shrug. He didn’t know what to say.
“I wish I had a true answer,” he said. “I’m not sure. It’s just the results are there and you try to put in the work and hope things work out.”
Through four starts, Corbin has been one of the better pitchers in baseball.
