It wasn’t so long ago the Diamondbacks were entering a season filled with great expectations while counting on Patrick Corbin to be their No. 1 starter.
Elbow surgery in March 2014 derailed those hopes for both Corbin and the team, but as he’s set to make his first start of the season Wednesday afternoon at Chase Field, the expectations are again high for the 27-year-old left-hander.
Corbin is healthy. His stuff is drawing raves from scouts and coaches. And he spent the better part of the past month carving up hitters in the Cactus League.
“I’m ready to go,” Corbin said.
