SAN DIEGO — On a cold, rainy day, the gloomy weather paired well with the Diamondbacks’ soggy offense.
For the fourth consecutive game, the Diamondbacks failed to get more than two runs on the scoreboard and, as a result, suffered a rare sweep at Petco Park with a 5-2 loss to the San Diego Padres on Wednesday.
“We’re all frustrated,” Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said. “We know this game is hard. This is not fun, and these guys have to pick themselves up. I know how tough they are. I know they want this thing to turn around.
