Nuno's relief effort followed eventful commute

"I noticed the car sounded different," Nuno said. "I just pulled over and looked, and it was a flat. I'm lucky I had [run-flat tires], so I made it down here. I was just lucky I wasn't on the freeway."

Nuno barely had time to settle in before he was summoned to relieve Josh Collmenter in the second inning of an eventual 11-1 D-backs loss.

Nuno proceeded to save the bullpen by tossing 6 2/3 innings and allowing just two earned runs.
