LOS ANGELES – Brandon Drury was rung up on strikes and reacted angrily in the seventh inning, first letting Tom Hallion hear his displeasure before heading back to the dugout, then refreshing the home plate umpire’s memory at the end of the half-inning.
That was about as offensive as the Diamondbacks got on Wednesday night. One day after Clayton Kershaw shut them down, the next lefty in the Dodgers’ rotation, Alex Wood, turned in near carbon-copy performance.
Wood fired seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out 10. In two games, the Diamondbacks have managed a total of nine baserunners and struck out 21 times in 14 innings against a pair of Dodgers lefties.
