It’s the second year in a row the D-backs have taken home two honors, the first time they’ve done so in franchise history. Last year, it was Greinke and first baseman Paul Goldschmidt. Over the first eighteen seasons, from 1998-2016, the team managed five Gold Gloves, a total they have almost matched in the two years since. Ahmed became the first shortstop winner with the Diamondbacks, and the 28-year-old was tied with the Angels’ Andrelton Simmons for the major-league lead in defensive runs saved at the position, with 21.
