Joe Ross and four relievers combined to shutout the Diamondbacks tonight on 1 hit. The lone hit was an infield single by the pitcher Alex Young. (Young’s first hit of his major league career)
The Diamondbacks just could not put together any good at bats. The frustration was off the charts as Ross issued five walks in the first 3 innings but no hits or runs followed. In fact the five at bats that followed those walks produced 3 groundouts, (including a Carson Kelly GBDP), a strikeout and a flyout on just 20 pitches.
