WASHINGTON — Wilson Ramos blooped a two-run single to right with one out in the bottom of the eighth that helped the Washington Nationals to a 5-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday night.
Ryan Zimmerman led off the eighth with a walk off David Hernandez (0-2) and went to third on Jayson Werth’s double. One out later, Ramos sliced his single that snapped a 3-3 tie and scored both Zimmerman and Werth.
Drew Storen (2-0) earned the win thanks to a perfect eighth.
Jonathan Papelbon posted his 19th save of the season and his second with the Nationals, despite allowing an unearned run in the ninth.
